Desmond Child Rocks the Parthenon: A Night of Music Hits, Gods, Art & Magic

As a digital artist, having the honor to create the video mapping for the Desmond Child Rocks the Parthenon concert in Athens, Greece, was one of the most sublime experiences of my life. It was a surreal moment to have the opportunity to project my art in the home of the ancient Greek Gods, surrounded by such talented artists.

Collaborating with Desmond Child, one of my biggest mentors, and all the incredible musicians who performed that night was truly inspiring and unforgettable.

Alice Cooper, Bonnie Tyler, Rita Wilson, Sakis Rouvas, The Rasmus, George Lembesis, Kip Winger, Chris Willis, Tabitha Fair, Justin Benlolo, and Andreas Carlsson - each one of them had something unique to bring to the stage, honoring Desmond's creations. Desmond's music and performances were so powerful, and it was an absolute pleasure to contribute to the overall experience with my video mapping.

Combining the music and the visuals created an immersive experience that left the audience breathless. It was an honor to be a part of such a talented and dedicated team and contribute to an event celebrating the power of music and art to unite people worldwide.

Looking back on that night, I feel incredibly grateful for the experience. It was one of the most crucial moments of my life as a digital artist, and it will always hold a special place in my heart.

But beyond the music and visuals, the event had a higher purpose. In addition to being a fantastic experience to work with such talented musicians, the Desmond Child Rocks the Parthenon concert was a benefit event to raise awareness and funds to help reunite the Parthenon sculptures with Greece. The Parthenon sculptures have been scattered worldwide for many years, with a significant portion residing in the British Museum in London. This has been debated and controversial for decades, with Greece and other supporters advocating for their repatriation.

Desmond Child, the legendary Songwriter to the Stars, Grammy award-winning songwriter, and producer, has long advocated reunifying the Parthenon sculptures. He organized the concert to create awareness of the issue and raise funds to support the cause. The show was held at the foot of the Acropolis, with the Parthenon as the backdrop, making it an extraordinary and symbolic event.

The concert was a collaboration between Desmond Child, the Greek Ministry of Culture, and the Organization for the Construction of the New Acropolis Museum. It brought together artists from all over the world to support the reunification of the Parthenon sculptures. Dignitaries, celebrities, and supporters of the cause worldwide also attended the benefit.

As a digital artist, I was honored to contribute to this event through video mapping. I worked closely with Desmond Child and the production team to create a visual experience that would complement the music and the location.

It was a truly unique and memorable experience for all involved, and it gave me a sense of pride and purpose as a digital artist. The concert was a resounding triumph.

Our collective efforts will help bring the Parthenon sculptures home to Greece, where they belong, and inspire others to support cultural heritage preservation efforts worldwide.

Thank You, Desmond!
